Hi, my name is Chrissy.

I’m here to help therapy feel less scary.

Normalizing therapy

Therapy is another form of healthcare. Whether it be treating an immediate emergency or maintaining general wellbeing, attending therapy is another way of taking care of ourselves. Therapy can help address day-to-day stress as well as impactful, long term trauma.

When asked about attending therapy, I’ve heard a range of responses including, “well my issues are not that bad.” Therapy is for everyone in every walk of life. You don’t need to be “that sick” to go see the doctor for a physical, and similarly, there is no requirement for intensity to qualify for therapy.

Therapy allows us to gain the tools needed to live a peaceful, fulfilling life, and that will look different for each person. You will find the tools and skills necessary to transfer to all stages of life and handle every surprise that may appear. Similar to yearly bloodwork with the doctor or teeth cleaning at the dentist, therapy can help you proactively manage any obstacles that may appear on your path.

The thera-scaries

Therapy is scary. Enter: the thera-scaries.

If you’ve ever watched a movie or TV show that depicts therapy, it may look frightening. And honestly, you’re doing some of the most vulnerable work of your life, and it can be scary.

I’m here to walk alongside you with support, compassion, and guidance as you explore this path within yourself. You won’t find direct answers, advice, or someone who is telling you what is right and wrong. You will, however, find someone who will walk in that darkness with you and shine light on it while we work together to understand.

Together, we can create an environment where you feel safe to do the scary things. We will build distress tolerance for the roadblocks you encounter. We will explore the tools that work best for your and your darkness. We will learn to regulate in the peace you create for yourself.

You’re worth doing scary things.
